The originals · Since 2014

Seen a Hollywood theme on a sitar? Odds are it started with us.

In 2014, nobody was playing film scores on Indian classical instruments. The Indian Jam Project did it first. Today a whole wave of acts follows the format.

On screen

The Sound of 007

Featured in The Sound of 007, the official James Bond music documentary, alongside Hans Zimmer and Billie Eilish.

On record

Brahmastra

The band's musicians played the film's entire Indian classical soundscape, composed by Tushar Lall.

An instrument that can play a raga can play a film score.

Each piece is rebuilt inside the rules of Indian classical music. When a room hears a theme it has known all its life arriving through a sarangi, you can feel it turn.

The ensemble
